Choose shapewear by your measurements, not by a smaller size label. Start with the specific product’s size chart and supplier fit notes. Do not size down to seek more compression.
Start with the product’s size chart
Use our Size Guide to measure your bust, waist and hips. Compare the measurements required for your chosen style with its product-specific chart, using the same units. Sizes can vary between products and suppliers.
If the listing does not provide enough sizing information, contact us before ordering rather than guessing.
When should you size up?
If your measurements fall between sizes, consider the larger size for a gentler fit, unless the product’s supplier instructions say otherwise. Check all relevant measurements, not just your waist.
If one measurement falls outside a size’s stated range, do not assume the fabric will stretch enough. Compare the next size against the full chart. If no size accommodates your measurements, ask for help or consider a different style.
When should you size down?
Consider a smaller size only when your current measurements fit that size’s product-specific chart and the supplier’s fit guidance supports it. Your usual clothing size is not a reliable shortcut.
Being at the lower end of a size range does not automatically mean you should go down a size. Neither a fitted outfit nor a desire for more shaping is a reason to choose outside the chart.
What if your waist and hips suggest different sizes?
Check the product’s instructions for which measurements determine fit. For bodysuits, consider bust, waist and hips together; for shaping shorts, compare waist and hips. Check any torso-length guidance supplied for the style rather than assuming that sizing up fixes length.
Check the fit before wearing
You should be able to breathe and move comfortably. Check for digging edges, pulling seams, gaps or bunching. If the garment feels painful or restricts breathing, take it off. Recheck the chart rather than automatically moving one size up or down.
